The Act on Special Geriatric Care by President Andrzej Duda, aims to provide specialized healthcare services for individuals aged 75 and above, acknowledging the urgent need to address the growing elderly population in Poland. The act outlines the establishment of over 300 “Centra 75+” centers across the country, equipped with geriatric care coordinators and consultants to offer comprehensive care, advice, and rehabilitation services. President Duda emphasized that this systematic approach to geriatric care is crucial, given the projected demographic shift, with experts estimating that by 2050, 16.5% of Poland’s population will be aged 75 or older.
