Soft-Body Physics

Ask any simulation engineer – human tissue is one of the hardest materials to accurately simulate in real-time, especially when considering important surgical tasks such as dissection and suturing.

Our team has mastered the art of creating virtual anatomical models that behave just like their real-life counterparts.

With the integration of cutting-edge soft body physics and force feedback technology, we bring pliable, lifelike tissue to life. Our simulations feature accurate anatomy, pathologies, and adverse events, ensuring an experience that closely mimics reality.

Graphical Medical Simulation

We use physically based rendering (PBR). In our simulation, we have a complex interaction system of rigid bodies, soft bodies and fluids. By using volumetric meshes, we can represent the different anatomical structures and give individually, biomechanical properties to different structures.

The interaction between laparoscopic instruments and soft tissue, as an example, is an important part of the simulation and requires advanced collision detection.

Surgical Science

Data Science and AI

Simulation is an excellent tool to train machines as well as humans.

Our Data Science department is working with research teams in academia and industry to support their initiatives in AI and advanced analytics using synthetic data, customizable simulation, and telemetry and video data gathered from the simulators.

Robotic Surgery

hexagon red

Our team developed the very first commercial surgical robotic simulator in 2007, and we have been setting the industry standards ever since.

Our technology teams include simulation engineers who use the most advanced techniques in real-time physics and rendering, kinematics experts who have modeled diverse robotic chains (based on single-port, multiport and endoluminal access, wristed instruments or multi-jointed articulations), and hardware engineers to build the interfaces and 2D or 3D imaging solutions to support these.

Physical models can also be used to simulate diagnoses, procedures and practices for ultrasound and interventional ultrasound.

You get access to an extensive library of imaging tasks and procedures with accurate anatomy, pathologies and adverse events. You can either customize existing procedures and tasks or we will create new simulations of your choice.

Portable Vascular Simulation

One of our portable simulators was developed for vascular medical simulation. Get in contact and we'll show you more examples.
