ABDOMINAL MODULE

This module offers clinical cases presenting various findings relevant to the ultrasound examination of the abdomen. The clinical cases provide an unrestricted training environment with various scenarios such as trauma, abdominal pain, flank pain, back pain, palpable abnormalities, follow-up on suspected or known conditions and more. In most cases, the trainee is provided with the option to set the severity level of the findings.

Pathologies include appendicitis, abdominal aortic aneurysm, liver mass, gallstones, polycystic kidney, kidney nephrosis, renal abscess, and more. Color Doppler for vascular examination is available.

Learning Objectives:

  • To practice and gain confidence in obtaining high-quality ultrasound images while performing an ultrasound examination of the abdomen
  • To identify, understand and capture ultrasound images of organs in the abdominal cavity such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, abdominal aorta, gallbladder, pancreas, and appendix in a healthy patient
  • To demonstrate and evaluate diverse abdominal findings such as abdominal aortic aneurism, renal abnormalities, liver abnormalities, gallbladder abnormalities, and more
  • To practice the diagnostic workflow, reporting the clinical findings for various virtual patient cases
