The EMS module group immerses trainees in high-stakes, real-world prehospital emergencies: from motor vehicle collisions and urban violence to large-scale fire incidents. Each scenario unfolds in a dynamically rendered outdoor or field environment, demanding rapid clinical decision-making and immediate life-saving intervention under pressure.
Trainees respond as the lead prehospital provider in time-critical situations in which a Pre-Hospital Emergency Physician has authorized advanced interventions prior to their arrival. Scenarios span a range of injury mechanisms and patient presentations, including multi-trauma from vehicle collisions, hemorrhagic shock from penetrating gunshot wounds, lacerations and bleeding wounds from violent altercations, and inhalation injuries and burns from a residential building fire. Each case is grounded in PHTLS-aligned protocols and designed to reflect the complexity, urgency, and cognitive load of real prehospital care.
