Advanced Hysteroscopy

The Advanced Hysteroscopy module is designed for experienced clinicians seeking to refine their operative hysteroscopic skills through complex and demanding cases. Trainees are challenged with advanced uterine pathologies, including multiple myomas, multiple polyps, septate uterus, and cesarean scar niche, reflecting real-world surgical complexity.

Using the resectoscope and interchangeable electrodes such as the loop, hook, and needle, learners practice precise tissue removal while maintaining optimal visualization and uterine distension. The module emphasizes safe and effective energy use, controlled resections, and accurate navigation within varying uterine anatomies to minimize the risk of complications.

Throughout the scenarios, trainees develop confidence in fluid management, bleeding control, and complication handling, including precise hemostasis and avoiding uterine perforation. Performance feedback supports deliberate practice and skill progression in a risk-free environment.

Learning Objectives

  • Establish adequate uterine distension and clearly visualize the left and right tubal ostia
  • Manage irrigation fluid effectively and maintain awareness of uterine fluid balance
  • Perform precise resection of pathological tissue using the appropriate electrode (loop, hook, or needle)
  • Apply safe energy techniques to minimize thermal injury and reduce the risk of uterine perforation
  • Identify bleeding sources and achieve effective hemostasis through controlled coagulation
