Stroke Configuration

Acute Ischemic Stroke module

hexagon red

This module allows clinicians to practice an endovascular intervention for emergency treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
The module includes a variety of scenarios with common clot locations.

The following procedural steps can be practiced:

  • Perform diagnostic angiography to locate the clot
  • Pass a microcatheter beyond the clot to assess the location of the clot distal end
  • Position and deploy a mechanical clot extraction device beyond the clot
  • Extract the clot while performing aspiration and inflating a balloon guide catheter.

Cardio Basic Skills

hexagon red

This module allows physicians to practice and improve core cardiological skills in a simulated environment. Each case provides an opportunity to practice a different skill needed for basic cardiology training.

The skills include:

  • Navigating and manipulating wires and catheters
  • Performing an Aortogram and assessing patient’s pathology
  • Placing Intra-Aortic balloon pump to increase myocardial oxygen perfusion
  • Performing Left Ventriculography
  • Performing right heart catheterization

C-arm Basic Skills Proctor Book

hexagon red

This module allows physicians, beginning their endovascular training, to practice and gain confidence in fundamental C-arm manipulation and projections in a self-directed and interactively challenging simulated environment. It provides designated skill tasks, supporting the focused acquisition of basic angiographic capabilities as well as training in operating the C-arm

Carotid Intervention Module

hexagon red

This module provides physicians practice of all aspects of the carotid stenting procedure, including diagnosis, measurement of the ICA and the stenosis using a caliper, protection device deployment, PTA and stenting. It enables measurement of ACT level, vital signs and neurological status monitoring. During the case a spasm may occur, and the trainee can treat it with nitroglycerine.

The module includes 12 virtual patient cases created from CTA/MRA imaging, presenting a variety of stenosis locations and anatomies, including aortic arch type I, II, III and a bovine arch. Some of the cases present baroreceptor response according to the  stenosis location and the intervention (predilatation, stent deployment, postdilatation). The trainee may use a variety of drugs to treat the hemodynamic changes.

Cerebral Intervention Module

hexagon red

This module provides neurovasculars with the opportunity to practice the following procedures:

  • Intracranial aneurysm coil embolization.
  • Intracranial stenosis angioplasty and stenting.
  • Endovascular intervention for the emergency treatment of an acute ischemic stroke.
  • Treatment of an intracranial aneurysm by deploying a flow diverter device.

The procedure also allows users to identify and treat relevant complications such as spasm, dissection, perforation and thrombosis.
