These procedures are among the most frequently performed surgical procedures worldwide, and represent an important skill set for abdominal surgeons.

Key Training Elements:

  • Understanding how a dissection and division of the Ileocolic Vein and Artery is performed in a laparoscopic environment performing a right-sided hemicolectomy, using a medial-to-lateral approach, and a selection of instruments
  • Careful creation of window inferior to pedicle, using “Purple Down” technique, for safe exposure of the Ileocolic vessels
  • Relating to the duodenum and Superior Mesenteric Artery and other critical tissues
